IKEA Hopes to Catch Up, Moving More Sales Online
IKEA was not an early adopter of online shopping, shunning even deliveries way back when. Now they're playing catch up, from a serious deficit, with Pottery Barn, West Elm, Overstock, and Wayfair accounting for 42% of all online furniture sales. With the market projected to keep growing, IKEA hopes to have 90% of its inventory available online (currently about 70% is available).
