IKEA Celebrates Pride Month With Rainbow-Colored Speakers and Bags

IKEA’s iconic blue shopping bag just got even more fabulous. In solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community for the upcoming Pride Month, IKEA is now offering two limited-edition rainbow-hued products. The first item is a STORSTOMMA bag, and the other is a dazzling cover for IKEA’s ENEBY Bluetooth speaker, which you can hang on the wall as both sound system and art, or take it with you to your local Pride event.

The promotion is done in collaboration with GLSEN, an organization that works to protect LGBTQ+ students in K-12 schools from bullying and harassment. It runs from June 1 to 30, with 30 percent of proceeds going to GLSEN.

And just like in recent years, IKEA also plans to raise the Rainbow Flag outside its U.S. stores for the entire month of June to further show its support for the movement.

“LGBTQ+ inclusion is an issue very close to our hearts and we want people of all sexual orientations and gender identities to feel at home — not just at IKEA, but everywhere,” said Samantha Giusti, Chief of Staff and LGBTQ+ Co-Worker Resource Group Co-Chair at IKEA. “This year, we honor Pride month by acknowledging the progress that’s been made on LGBTQ+ inclusion and bringing awareness to the actions we can all take to push progress further. Because progress doesn’t happen by accident, progress is made when we all work together.”

The STORSTOMMA bag is available for $1, and the ENEBY Bluetooth speaker covering is available for $8. You can find both products at any IKEA U.S. store near you.
