Exciting news: IKEA just announced that SLADDA, their new bicycle and its accessories, are now available to purchase online; it will be in stores starting in February.
SLADDA—which has already snagged some impressive design awards—is a low-maintenance bike that was created with the changing transportation needs of city dwellers in mind. We like that its sleek, unisex design is simple yet modern.
The bike has a rust- and oil-free belt drive, automatic gears and handlebars that can be positioned forward or upright. There's a clever click-in system for accessories such as front and back racks, and a bike bag that can be transformed into a backpack. You can also hitch on practical trailer developed for carting large or heavy objects, as well as helmets, a U-lock and pump.
SLADDA does clock in at 33 lbs, though, so if you live in a fifth-floor walkup, it might not be for you (or it could finally be your ticket to Michelle Obama arms).
You can get more info and order online at IKEA.
