Illuminated Door Handles Signal Occupied

Have you ever forgotten to lock the bathroom door and had friends or family barge right in? Hardware company Emtek has your back and has created illuminated door handles signaling to others that the room is otherwise occupied. Outside of the bathroom, we think they'd be great for a home recording studio and more.

Although we think this product is something for those looking to spend a little cash (priced between $162-$300 depending on the retailer), we still rather enjoy the idea. Each runs off a single AA battery that illuminates the exterior handle when it's locked from the inside. They're available in several different style options and the interior handles are just as sleek, minus the light up acrylic adornment.

We think It's a great way to teach little one's that Mom and Dad are using the bathroom and might not want their company, or helping to signal that a certain environment needs not be disturbed. Along the same lines, having grown up in a household of musicians and being surrounded by home recording gear as well as having a photography darkroom (back when actual film was the standard), it would have been a great way to signal something was going down and things weren't to be disturbed.

Although the Emtek site has a few hiccups on different browsers, their products can be found in a wide array of retailers in brick and mortar locations as well as online. Google to find a dealer near you!

Is this a must-have product for your space or even placed on a very long wish list? Let us know below!
