Ina Garten’s Handmade Vases Are Perfectly Mismatched

To eat a meal at Ina Garten’s table would be a life-altering experience — and sadly, it’s an experience only a select few people will ever have. However, it’s possible to bring the beauty of Garten’s table to your own dining room by investing in the same mismatched handmade vases she uses to display her gorgeous ranunculus. 

“Instead of making one big arrangement, it’s so much easier to make small vases of flowers and just move them around until they look right,” Garten captioned her April 2 post. “Have a great Sunday!”

“The vases are beautiful!!” one follower commented on the post. Another wrote, “Vases are lovely also!” The flowers have some stiff competition!

In the comments section, followers got to work figuring out where these beautiful blue-and-white vases came from. The artist was finally revealed as Melissa Goldstein, a Brooklyn-based ceramicist who creates pieces for her pottery brand Mg by hand.

“Mg by hand porcelain ceramic plates are inspired by 17th century German and Japanese botanical illustration,” Goldstein’s website reads. “They draw on numerical calligraphy, botanical drawings and ornithology.”

Each plate, vase, and bowl is thrown by hand and painted with a cobalt stain. You can check out the vases Goldstein currently has available for sale in her online shop.

And because each piece is done completely by hand, no two pieces are alike.

So although you may have to work on your cooking skills (and Ina Garten impression) to get the full Ina Garten dinner party experience, you can start small by taking tablescape notes from the pro and picking up a piece of heirloom pottery.
