Ina Garten is a total pro when it comes to cooking and entertaining, and lately, she’s been proving that she isn’t afraid to go bold with more than just flavor. Need proof? Look no further than her choice of sofa.

This week, the domestic doyenne took to her Instagram account to promote her new book, Cook Like a Pro, set to be released on October 23. But also interesting is what is behind her: her colorful choice of an orange sofa.

Often having the reputation as a difficult color to work with, we love Ina’s non-neutral choice for a major piece of furniture. And while it can get typecast as Halloween-only territory, the hue can work in a variety of ways and as part of sophisticated color palettes. The rest of the room features warm wood tones, natural materials, and texture, so punching up the space with a colorful sofa is a great strategy.

Orange is energetic and stimulating, which is perfect for hostess with the mostess Ina. People who love the hue are natural born entertainers—enthusiastic, optimistic, and the life of the party. They’re also assertive and determined, and love to help others.

This isn’t the first time Ina has gone for a bold decor statement; back in February, she showcased a piece of shell sculpture that had people reacting with both ewws and ahhs.

What do you think of Ina’s orange sofa? Tell us in the comments.
