Inglenooks: The Beautiful Unicorn House Feature of My Dreams
This morning, I woke up to the charming banging and burbling of my radiator coming back to life. Cold weather is here! Or, as I like to think about it, inglenook season.
This is not because anyone I know actually has an inglenook, or I have ever experienced one in real life. Inglenooks, like unicorns, are a beautiful thing that I have only ever seen in pictures and in my dreams. But that’s no reason to limit myself from sharing these photos with you. Come, feast your eyes and warm your heart. And if you have an inglenook (like Michael Graydon’s classic version above), tell us all about it so we can live vicariously through you.
What, you may ask, is an inglenook? It’s a little recess surrounding a fireplace, often provided with benches, where you can sit and warm yourself right next to the fire. It is a very, very good idea. This bright but cozy inglenook is from AnOther Mag.
