Happy May everyone! I thought I’d take this moment to remind you (for your sake and for your mother’s) that Mother’s Day is just around the corner. It will quickly be followed by that deluge of events that all seem to hit us at once this time of year… birthdays, weddings, showers (baby and bridal), graduations, you name it. Luckily back at the NY NOW show in February, I came across the lovely folks behind Inklings Greeting Cards. I’ve been waiting for the right moment to share this gem with you all, and it seems there’s no time like the last-minute shopping crunch to swoop in with a Fantastic Find (and an exclusive discount code) to save the day!

The Backstory

Inklings Founder and Creative Director Lindsay Henry has a background as a freelance designer, but spent her nights and weekends designing games and stationery for her friends’ weddings events and baby showers. She realized there wasn’t a lot of fresh and fun in that particular market, and in 2009 she found the means to give a much needed refresh to these products: while printing a large job for a client, she took advantage of potential wasted paper to print little cards in the margins, and Inklings was born. She opened her Etsy shop a year later, and starting with her fabulous scratch-off game cards, the line of paper products grew and grew.

How It Works

Even though they’ve grown, Inklings has stuck with Etsy as its selling platform. What I’m featuring here is just the tip of the iceberg — the online store is an endless amount of options for any kind of event you might be planning. In addition to the “classic” events, you can also buy all kinds of fun products for a baby gender reveal, a bachelorette party, even gift cards for wine (which honestly applies to ANY kind of gathering). The scratch-off cards are my personal favorite, and they really work. Just write the message — or have the Inklings team write it for you — cover with the sticker, and the recipient scratches away to reveal the message. Before it’s shipped out, each card is individually inspected and packaged by hand at the Inklings studio, so you know what you’re getting (or sending!) is tip-top quality.

Perfect for

Anyone who is bored of tired, traditional greeting cards and dull party games. Inklings is the fresh, fun way to share love — and let’s face it, there’s nothing quite like getting real, physical mail delivered to your home. The added element of surprise (scratch-offs! confetti! tooth fairy kits!) doesn’t hurt either. They’re also ideal for our sustainably-minded readers: the paper is 100% recycled, the ink is environmentally-friendly, and each card is locally-printed in the USA.

But the cherry on top? Inklings is offering an exclusive promo code to our readers for 20% off any item. Just enter “THERAPY” at checkout for an instant discount!
