Inspiration: Beer Bottle Partitions

Beer bottles – what can't they be used for? During the renovation the historic and now defunct Milwaukee Blatz Brewery, salvaged and original Blatz bottles were turned into warm amber pivoting partitions…

Architecture firm, Johnsen Schmaling Architects, found unopened beer bottles in the basement of the brewery and turned them into 9'-6" wide by 9'-0" tall partitions. The bottles are held in place by a "thin web of precision-milled neoprene rings that are suspended between the members of the aluminum frame." The architects also developed customized pivoting hardware so that each partition can rotate around its axis and provide spatial flexibility in the lounge area of the newly created commercial space.

While the construction technique sounds complicated, this seems like a fun idea to simplify and of course easy to find the materials.
