Inspiration: Chesterfield Sofa

There is something very classic about a Chesterfield sofa. When we think of these, we usually imagine all leather, tufted back, and large rounded arms. It was named in 1900 after Earl of Chesterfield, its inventor. Today chesterfield means a couch with arms as high as its back. Recently we have noticed a trend of these being used more and more often in modern interiors. Check out more of these after the jump:

Not all of the pictures below fit the classic description, but we love the traditional lines on all of them. The beautiful upholstery is very inspiring and we agree with Desire To Inspire that the tufting is the best design element of the chesterfield sofa.
