Inspiration from Pee Wee's Playhouse

Inspiration from Pee Wee's Playhouse

When we found out Pee Wee was coming to the Broadway stage, we screamed as if someone had just said the word of the day! Now the whole Playhouse gang is back in a splashy, larger-than-life production - and the wonderfully inventive set is making us want to add a speck of Pee Wee's zany brilliance to our homes.

Known for his signature grey suit and red bowtie, guffaw-worthy catch phrases and
classic dance moves (we spent a good part of our childhoods trying to master his
Tequila dance), Pee Wee is truly a one-of-a-kind entity – and his playhouse, made
famous through the hit 1980's television show, showcased his kooky and childlike
persona. The original art director Gary Panter, won three Emmy awards for his
wildly inventive set design for Pee Wee's Playhouse - and his freewheelin' style
has inspired us to dig up a few design gems that we love so much, we just might
marry 'em.

Be sure to catch The Pee Wee Herman Show on Broadway- running now through
January 2nd.
