Instant Collections

We all know that the best collections are ones accumulated over time, collected. However, in the design business it's fairly common to find clients who are either starting from scratch or starting over who desire a few pretty objects that fit their aesthetic tastes and round out a room. And that's where instant collections can come into play.

CB2's Russian Nesting Dolls, set of six
Wisteria's Calligraphic Paintbrushes, set of three in neutral (pictured) or turquoise
Anthropologie's Standing Magnifying Glass, sold individually in four sizes
Restoration Hardware's Fishing Weights, set of four
West Elm's Pure White Ceramic Vase Collection, sold individually in seven variations or in sets of three

Ikea's FÄRM vases, sold individually in four variations
Ballard Designs' Suzanne Kasler French Bisque Lamp Slip, sold individually in four variations
Terrain's Vintage French Baby Bottles, sold in sets of two
Pottery Barn's Vintage (inspired) Keys, Set of 7
Mothology's Vintage Style Wooden Wheels on Stand, Set of 6

So, what are your thoughts? Too contrived or do they have their place? And if so, what are your favorite sources for instant collections?
