It seems we're late stumbling across Gregory Buntain. After finding his site through a series of clicks across the Internet that we can't even remember, we searched for more and came across a number of posts in the blogosphere documenting Gregory's Young Designer Award from the Target Corporation earlier this year. He also won a 2nd Place award in 2008 from Design Within Reach for his collapsible Axis Chair. Click below to find out what first drew us to his work...

The (intension) table is a smartly designed endtable that fits into a box the size of a briefcase. With a little bit of assembly, it transforms into a fairly standard piece except for one detail...

...an elastic O-ring that fits into a groove around the rim and holds the tabletop together using tension. Apart from being functional and easy to transport, the O-ring gives the table just enough panache to elevate it out of the ordinary. To see the entire project, as well as several other intelligently designed pieces, visit Gregory's site.
