When you are looking for that one perfect piece. Many furniture stores embody a monoculture or monoperiod, specializing either in new furniture, modern furniture, antiques or traditional styles. Interieurs does none of this. The brainchild and testing ground of designer, Francine Gardner, her shop on Franklin Street is the kind that makes you stop and stare in the windows. The look? It is hard to place. Distinctively modern, clean lines but mixed in with antiques from around the world (Asia, Italy, Morrocco…you name it). The final look is strong, uncluttered, but with a hint of a luxurious, soft feminine nature behind it all. Everything is comfortable and the range of pieces is impressive, from outdoor tables to indoor lighting to beds. Problems? Good stuff like this ain’t cheap. Beds: $5-6,000 Sofas: $5-10,000 Dining Tables: $7,000 up Lighting: $1-2,500. It is worth looking even if you don’t buy as the style of the store will teach you something, and why not save up for one good thing? MGR
