Q #1: I am getting ready to move from a furnished flat to a 3-bedroom house. We have almost no furniture (only a desk and a couple of random tables). I recently saw a post from way back in 2013 where you had a list of 10 budget-friendly but stylish companies as an alternative to IKEA. I am begging you for a UK edition! Please help. -Sent by Lindsay

Q#2: I’m a longtime Apartment Therapy reader about to move from the US to Singapore. Any readers know where to go in Singapore for modern furniture? I know about (and will be taking advantage of!) IKEA and Muji, but what about something akin to Room & Board (basic, good craftsmanship)? Or CB2 (decent quality, happy modern vibe)? -Sent by Becky

Q#3: Hi there. After 10 years in New Zealand (with very limited affordable shopping options -oh the joys of living on an island….) I will move back to my native Germany. While I OBVIOUSLY look forward to IKEA, I don’t have any other ideas on where else to buy affordable, modern or MCM furniture in the homeland. Maybe some of your German readers have some pointers for me?
Cheers. -Sent by Nora

Editor: While these three questions address specific places, it would be fabulous if everyone could share all of their international furniture shopping recommendations. What are the best, most affordable places to shop for modern furnishings, worldwide? Thanks!
