Looking for quick but potent projects for your home that will make it just a little bit better? It’s somehow easier to get and stay motivated when you know others are working along with you, so we’re starting a series of simple, weekend projects to do together as a group. These aren’t meant to monopolize your weekend—we all deserve some rest and relaxation—but by spending a little time each weekend on your home, bit by bit you will be making it a nicer, happier place to be.

Here’s the plan:

Thursdays: We’ll describe the upcoming weekend’s project along with a list of any materials you may need. Sometimes the project will enhance the look of your home and other times it will make your home cleaner or more organized.

Fridays: Map out your plan for the project and start gathering or purchasing any materials you may need to complete it. Don’t forget to document it with a “before” photo!

Saturdays: Work on your project—and remember, you’re not alone! Each Saturday morning an Apartment Therapy blogger will share the progress she is making. We hope it will keep you motivated and inspired to complete the project.

Sundays: Finish your project (unless you completed it on Saturday, in which case, put your feet up and read the paper), take your “after” photo to share with the group and bask in the knowledge that you just took one step closer to a happier home. Your project buddy, aka our Apartment Therapy blogger, will share her end result on the site for you to admire.

SHARE: Don’t forget to share your project with the group on social media: Take quick photos “before” “in progress” and “after” photos of your project and then post and tag them on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and Tumblr (whichever with #atweekendproject. We’ll be looking for you!
