A stylish pad needs a stylish looking iPod dock. There are thousands of different models on the market right now, and it's not easy to find the right one. If you are looking for an sleek and modern looking iPod dock and speaker system, this little baby from electronic music pioneer Jean-Michel Jarre might do the trick for you. It's hard to describe, but it just looks good.

To us, it looks like the dock from the future. If anything, that speaks volumes. The three speakers are set onto a glass cylinder, which is highly resistant. It definitely looks unique, something crossed between Cylon and some modern appliance. The premise of the system is good. To improve the crappy sounds of our MP3s. However, is creating this system really a way to improve the sounds we listen to? High quality hi-fi audio systems can cost tens of dollars. We don't think that this will come anywhere near the sounds of those systems, still it's a good way to try and improve something that is ubiquitous in our modern society, the iPod.

On top of just looking good, this speaker unit packs two 20W speakers and a 45W subwooker in its retro looking enclosure. It also comes with a USB port and a 3.5mm jack as well as the necessary iPod dock. It comes with an iPod inspired looking remote. Jarre thinks that MP3 quality is terrible and that we need to add a little more hi-fi to our listening. That's why he came up with these speakers, which are supposed to add some quality to the MP3s being played on the iPod. The AeroSystem is currently available only in France and costs $580.
