Jennifer's Retro Residence

Aug 12, 2010

Name: Jennifer Ramsay & Schoolly D
Location: Gladwyne, Pennsylvania (right outside of Philadelphia)
Size: 5,300 square feet — 5 bedrooms, 3½ baths
Years lived in: 4

Jennifer and Schoolly D have accumulated their collection of mid-century modern furniture and accessories for over 10 years. They've carefully selected each piece they have in their home and created a space that will transport you back in time.

When first walking into the Gladwyne home, you're taken aback by the sheer size of it. The square footage is plentiful, but the open layout and large windows really makes it feel much, much larger. The first floor is filled with sunlight and greenery, you feel as though you could be outdoors while standing in the living room. The juxtaposition of the sleek and streamlined furniture and the outdoors is inspiring.

The walls have been left neutral colors to allow the furniture to speak for itself. Each room is filled with a mixture of colors and textures &mdash faux fur meets vinyl! The strategic placement of musical instruments is also intriguing. Schoolly D works in the music industry and it's certainly apparent when walking around their lower level. The home was filled with soul music while we were taking our tour, the perfect atmosphere for this retro residence.
