Joanna Gaines Launches New Paint Line
Want to have Joanna Gaines help you choose a paint color? Today, the designer released a new collection of interior paint under her Magnolia Home brand and it’s the next best thing to being on Fixer Upper. We chatted with the HGTV star about the the line, including which color is best for shiplap.
One of the most frequent questions Joanna gets is about picking paint colors, so this line is her way of making it easy to choose.
“You go into a paint store and see 20 or more different grays,” she says during our phone interview. “I picked my favorite tone and give you three options: a light gray, a medium gray, and a dark gray.” And with a limited palette, the designer focused on timeless, nature-inspired hues, something that you’ll “still love in five years.”
Created with paint brand KILZ, Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines features 25 personally-picked colors in three interior finishes (matte, eggshell, and satin). The line also includes cabinet and furniture paint in semi-gloss that’s perfect for trim, interior doors, or redoing your kitchen.
And when it came to naming them, the whole family was in on the inspiration. There are colors for the kids, a gray that was inspired by Chip’s wedding band, and even a hue (One Horn) that matches the family goat.
And if you’re wondering which color looks best on shiplap, well, there’s a warm white that’s named after the designer’s favorite material.
