Now we already know vinyl collectors are often a passionate lot. My record-loving friends can wax poetic about out-of-print editions, their favorite record players and needles for hours, and even how to properly clean their albums “like a pro”. But how about displaying a collection for easy perusal and display, just like those inside a good old fashioned record shop?

John Vantine got bit with the record collecting bug after a friend convinced him to start buying his favorite albums on wax. One record became two, which turned into ten, and then a hundred…and then the next thing you know, he has a storage issue where cardboard boxes aren’t cutting it any longer.

So he got planning, cutting, and building his very own pair of record display shelves, inspired by some free plans available over at AudioKarma.org’s Home Audio Stereo Discussion board. The results are pretty sweet if you ask us (more photos of the construction with additional links to plans shown below).
