I love Halloween decor, and I especially love the kind that complements with the rest of your decor that you can keep it up all year round.

Needless to say, I was thrilled to get a peek at Target’s limited-edition Halloween collection with New York-based artist and designer John Derian, which launches today. So many of Derian’s quintessential, vintage-looking decoupage pieces and found ephemera already have an other worldly, ethereal quality to them that this partnership for Halloween makes so much sense to me. Plus, they have just enough spook to feel truly festive.

The collection, which is 50 pieces strong, includes an assortment of eerie oddities and decor items for every room in the home. You’ll find decorative throw pillows, scented candles, glassware, and more, all inspired by Derian’s aesthetic, but at much more affordable prices than his eponymous boutique. “When I think about my work, imagery collection, and creative process, I imagine ‘casting a spell’ with my things,” says Derian of this assortment. “That vision inspired me throughout this design process.”

I pulled out a few standout items that I think are worth investing in, so you can cast your own spell for Halloween at home this year. Here’s my pick of Derian’s spooky litter, starting at just $10.

Long Lost Friend Pillow

Skeletons are always a fixture in Halloween decor, but I’ve never seen a life-sized, opposable pillow version before. You’ll get a lot of mileage out of this unlikely cuddle buddy, whether you set yours out on a chair or the sofa.

Whoo’s Hungry Melamine Appetizer Plate Set

I’d actually use these dishwasher-safe melamine owl plates all year long, though they’d certainly work well with a Halloween tablescape, too. They’re the perfect size for serving desserts and apps.

Beads & Bones Skull Pillow

If you don’t want to deck your sofa out with a big anatomical skeleton pillow, you can go with this subtle cross and bones style instead. The gold beading and black cord piping make it look much more expensive than it actually is.
