Things we love about this property crush:

You can’t miss this house. Located in Joshua Tree, just a half-hour or so from Joshua Tree National Park, the exterior features a slithering snake with bright pops of red and orange. The house, originally built in 1958, was owned and renovated by local artist, Lindsay Hollinger, whose colorful paintings are meant to capture emotion and landscape. It certainly works with this property.

Situated on five acres of private land, the home feels like your own boutique hotel in the middle of the desert. Inside, the living space has a wall of glass windows and doors to capture natural light. There’s a statement stone wall and a cozy wood stove for cool desert evenings. From there, walk into the custom kitchen, which has new appliances and butcher block countertops and shelving. What we love most: The cobalt and white star tile backsplash and a built-in breakfast nook that’s such a smart (and stylish) way to save space. Plus, the dedicated bar for coffee or spirits.

The master bedroom is super spacious with a wall of garage doors that can be rolled up to watch the sunrise each morning. The bathroom has a white subway tile shower and a modern, clean feel. There are two additional bedrooms, one with a genius storage bench and an en-suite bathroom and laundry room. There’s also a new central air-conditioning and heating system with a smart thermostat.

Outside is dreamy, too, with a covered patio, a sun deck, and a hot tub with endless desert views.

The house is close to Indian Cove, and comes fully furnished so new owners can continue using it as an established AirB&B rental—or just keep it for themselves.
