Julianne Moore Just Taught Us How to Wash Stone Pavers
Julianne Moore isn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves and get to work around the house–or in this case, her backyard. In an Instagram video posted on Sunday, she was down on her hands and knees scrubbing a stone paver clean in her backyard.
The video, shot by movie director and husband Bart Freundlich, appears to be filmed through a window without her knowing. It shows her armed with a wide-brim hat, blue rubber gloves, a bristled brush, and a bottle of Super Clean Cleaner-Degreaser, a biodegradable all-purpose cleaner.
She worked up a nice lather, scrubbing methodically and thoroughly in the short video, never looking up at the camera or breaking concentration. For most of her followers, the biggest surprise wasn’t just seeing her clean a stone paver—it was discovering that rocks had to be cleaned at all.
“Damn – I never wash my rocks,” commented Jenna Lyons, former creative director of J. Crew.
“You should. Then they would be clean,” replied Moore.
“Who else here just learned you’re supposed to clean rocks?” user @catnolen wrote.
“Washing a rock?” asks user @ruthsikes.
What makes the video even more mesmerizing is watching it with the volume up. The uninterrupted sound of brush bristles against stone is extremely relaxing, as several of her followers would agree.
“This is actually soothing to me for some reason. #sosatisfying” commented user @reviewedbynick.
“I know I was hoping she did an after pic,” wrote user @rianamaharaj.
So far the video has been viewed almost 614,000 times, and I am responsible for at least 1,000 of those views.
If you want clean rocks with a little less elbow grease, Julianne, there’s always the trusty pressure washer.
