EcoSpheres are sealed blown-glass miniature aquaria that are completely self sustainable. They're filled with tiny red shrimp, a beautiful Gorgonia sprig (or Coral) as well as rocks and shells. The space provides ample room for the shrimp to eat, hide and play all the while providing a unique element in your home.

The technology was originally developed by NASA in an attempt to better understand our ecosystem and the idea caught on. Each EcoSphere is interesting in its own way, because no two look exactly alike &mdash thanks to pieces of Gorgonia sprigs.

Why do these work so great in the home? For starters, they're good for kids to learn from, the average life span for the EcoSphere is 2-3 years (sometimes up to 7-10 years) and they're absolutely beautiful!

Each EcoSphere is filled with filtered sea water and can be placed anywhere with indirect sunlight. The shrimp thrive in this type of environment and feed on the algae and bacteria that grow inside! They have plenty of room to swim around and hide in all of the wonderful hidden corners.
