I got a lot of things from my dad: my height, my left-handedness, my sarcasm, my love of cookie dough and nature documentaries, and my habit of constantly turning off unnecessary lights around the house... when I'm not too busy turning them on for someone who's going to hurt their eyes reading in the dark like that!
If you lived with a father figure(s) during your formative years, what habits did you pick up from him? What household skills did you learn from him? What did he do that drove you crazy but that you find yourself doing now? What things did your dad do that you never understood until you had a place of your own?
I'd love to stay and chat but I need to go restock the basement tornado survival kit, leave silly notes around the house for all the members of my family, and check on the cross-breeze situation.
