Whether Kate Hudson realizes it or not, she just hopped on a brand new aesthetic trend with her most recent Instagram post. Hudson posted a mirror selfie from inside her English cottage-inspired bathroom, and the picture has all the attributes of a snap uploaded by a “wallpaper girl.”

“I 💚green,” Hudston, clad in a green bikini that matches her yellow rose wallpaper, captioned the pic. She also used the hashtag #TalesFromMyBathroom.

For those who missed the memo, wallpaper girls are “baddies” who take selfies in their childhood bedrooms that are often decorated with vintage, somewhat dated wallpaper and matching window dressings. They manage to seamlessly mix their two worlds—city and suburban life—in one photo, and their selfies emit both softness and edge.

Hudson, posed in a bikini and braids in front of her vintage-style wallpaper, is doing just that.

And actually, having scrolled back through Hudson’s Instagram feed, it appears as though Hudson was a wallpaper girl before wallpaper girls became a thing.

Hudson’s Los Angeles home is decorated in a warm, country-cottage style, and wallpaper makes appearances in many rooms throughout the house—wallpaper that Hudson has no qualms with using as a backdrop.

(A backdrop for selfies, as well as impromptu concerts.)

It appears that Hudson didn’t actually hop on the wallpaper girl trend, but actually pioneered its existence. And now that we’re obsessed with the wallpaper in Hudson’s bathroom—a pattern from designer John Derian—the fans expect to see a lot more of it as the wallpaper girls trend continues to catch on.

Give the people more #TalesFromMyBathroom, Kate. The decor is too good to keep hidden away.
