This interesting new lamp uses diffuse light and a new way of shading to make it really neat. It's a novel idea and we think that the designer really examined lighting to come up with something new.
This lamp was created by industrial designer Katherine Semenko. She came up with this unique concept and draws inspiration from living organisms. The front of the lamp is closed off, while the light streams from the reverse side. The In lamp seems to be perfect for diffuse lighting purposes.
The outer part has some patterns on it, which reminds us of reptilian skin. It seems that it also lets the light shine through, giving it a nice glow. Although this is just a concept for now, we think that it could easily be done with existing technology. We're pretty sure that a clever use of an LED lamp with a lampshade could to the trick. The way the lamp is made means that it's bright where it needs to be, and diffuse on the other side. That's pretty smart.
