Earlier we read a really great post on Apartment Therapy about Vintage Goods or Antiques as Gifts. They're such a great gift to receive (or even give) and they're unbelievably easy to incorporate into a modern home. Most people get stuck at that part, but it's actually very simple and Kerri &' Luke's desk is the perfect example!

For starters, the colors in the couples home are fairly neutral and allow for just about anything furniture-wise to go on. They already have quite an eclectic taste, so incorporating an antique desk most likely seemed natural to them.

The desk looks like it was actually part of a vanity, we've seen them throughout the years and usually they're kept in the same line of use. It's interesting to see the vanity being used as a desk, as we're surprised we haven't seen it used that way before.

The slightly raised sides actually benefit the use as a desk, the sides allow for the monitor to be slightly raised and therefor better seen. It also allows for plenty of room for the keyboard! We just really love the juxtaposition of the antique desk and the modern amenities of a computer.
