Keeping photos of your baby or kids in your wallet to show off is considered quaint these days. There are so many online photo sharing options for keeping family and friends up-to-date with your thousands of photos (see a discussion in a recent Open Thread) and it seems like everyone has a blog these days to chronicle the day-to-day goings on of their family.
A new service, Kidmondo, combines the concept of a blog and photo and video sharing as well as adds new features like growth charts and food journals to become a comprehensive online kid and baby journal. And - it's free!
What we like best about Kidmondo is the privacy if offers. You build your online journal and then invite family and friends to view it. It is otherwise not accessible to the general public. While we greatly value reading about the experiences and activities of families on their blogs, many parents would prefer to keep images and stories about their kids to a circle of family and friends.
As we mentioned, basic Kidmondo (up to three kids) is a free service, but you will have to endure some ads and are limited to 25 MB of storage space. If you prefer an ad-free online experience, you can pay $5/month which also ups your storage space to 100 MB and journals for five children or $10/month for a whopping 500 MB and an unlimited number of journals.
