When you stop using desktops, it's hard to go back. We've known a few people who completely stopped using desktops once they switched to laptops. Laptop-use has its advantages. You can go work anywhere, but it's nice to have a good setup when you're at home. That's what Kirk has, and even if it's simple, we're sure a lot of people would like to have a similar setup.

Kirk spends his time on the ranch of his parents in the UK. Yep, he's got a nice cowboy life that involves horses in the UK, which surprised us in the beginning. He enjoys taking photos and spending time on the ranch. That being said, his setup is nice and simple, making it easy for him to do his work.

He recently upgraded to an Apple Cinema display for his MacBook Pro. A simple Apple Keyboard and Magic Mouse complete his setup. His desk was handmade. His Time Capsule and other peripherals are almost invisible since they are nicely tucked away.

As you can see, Kirk has got a lot of Apple gear. He's quite the Mac fanatic. He uses his MacBook Pro as his main computer. This means that if he's got to go somewhere, he can easily take his work with him. His desk is quite spartan and if it were ours, we'd probably place a few LEDs spots to give it a nice glow. Some extra shelving under the desk could also work well.

All in all, it's a nice setup that a lot of people would like to have since if you spend a lot of time computing from home, it's great to have an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse to make using your laptop more convenient.
