Flipping through the Spring 2009 issue of CS Interiors, we noticed an interesting piece about the recent slew of boutique hotels by big name designers: Kelly Wearstler, Ilse Crawford, and Marcel Wanders among them. The one that really stood out for us was the Haymarket Hotel by Kit Kemp, the British entrepreneur who founded London's Firmdale Hotels with her husband. Kemp is self-taught as a designer, and her signature style combines chintzes and florals you might find in your granny's house with bold colors and modern shapes...

The photographs above show Kemp's work as it appears in five Firmdale hotels:

1 Haymarket Hotel
2 Covent Garden Hotel
3 Soho Hotel
4 Charlotte Street Hotel
5 Knightsbridge Hotel
