The same goes for household textiles. A rug can become a massive living room wall hanging, and a homemade quilt can make a stunning statement in a bedroom.
And TikTok is here to suggest one more home linen item you may not have considered before: a dish towel. Yep, that crumpled-up, often-grimy tea towel that serves basically every purpose in your kitchen (hand dryer, dish rag, counter wiper, dish-drying mat, the list goes on…) can also serve as art, according to a genius TikTok video from Medina Grillo (@grillodesigns).

In her video, Grillo, a 2020 Apartment Therapy Design Changemaker, demonstrated just how simple it is to make kitchen towel art using a mustard-accented towel; simply frame one of your prettier towels (You may need to wash and iron it first!), and voilà: You’ve created larger-scale wall art in the process.
You could also take inspiration from one of the video’s commenters and use this suggestion to give pride of place to kitchen linen heirlooms. “I’m going to do this with some linen towels my grandmother embroidered,” the commenter wrote. “Thank you for [the] idea.”
