Knockout Outdoor Furniture: 10 Sources

These furniture dealers are swanky and spendy, but it doesn't hurt to dream, right? Actually, not having any outdoor space of our own, we can only dream anyway, but if we had a courtyard garden or a modern patio and a no-limit budget, these are the places we'd shop for furniture.

Janus Et Cie: This company specializes in to-the-trade pieces that are large, comfortable, and perfect for poolside. Shown above is the Gigi Lounge (price on request).

Tectona: Based in France but available to Americans thanks to the magic of international shipping, Tectona works with top European contemporary designers. This is the Grasshopper Chair by Weiki Somers, € 222.

Vitra: This Swiss company is a reliable source for modern classics, and they have showrooms and retailers around the world. The indoor/outdoor Panton Chair, designed by Verner Panton, is $260.

Knoll: A go-to source for mid-century classics and office furniture, Knoll also stocks some amazing outdoor sets. The Toledo Chair by Jorge Pensi is one of our all-time favorite outdoor designs, but it's pricey, clocking in around $1,000.

Fermob: This French company makes bistro sets in every color of the rainbow, as well as contemporary variations on European outdoor classics. This is the brand new Surprising Lounger (price on request).

Curran: Based out of Seattle, this online/catalog retailer has a gorgeous selection of high-end furniture for the yard or patio. This is the Kolorado Collection, ranging from $700 - $4,200.

Roche Bobois: Another French company with an impeccable catalog of unique and beautiful things, they carry a limited line of outdoor seating and dining. This is the Bel Air Bistro Table (price on request).

B & B Italia: A leg of this Italian company is devoted entirely to outdoor furnishings. They carry designs by Patricia Urquiola, Naoto Fukasawa, and Richard Schulz, who designed this 1966 Swell Collection (price on request).

Marin Outdoor Living: Best known for their eco-smart portable fireplaces (which can be used outdoors), Marin also sells modern, high-style outdoor furnishings. This is the Mamagreen Collection (price on request).

Muleh: Based in Washington, DC, this store carries indoor/outdoor furniture made from natural materials. Their pieces tend to be big and bold, like the Voyage Bed shown here (price on request).
