If you don’t know what a “geode portrait” is, now is the time to get educated. Kristen Bell posted a photo of the one she commissioned from Bianca D’Amico at Chaparral Studio in honor of husband Dax Shepard’s 16th “sobriety birthday,” and it’s part glitz, part glamor, and wholly kitschy AF. The bottom line is, you’re absolutely going to want one.

“Perhaps the most thoughtful, powerful, spiritual present a person could receive for their 16-year sobriety anniversary,” Shepard captioned a September 8th Instagram post showing off the geode portrait. “There’s nothing better than receiving something you had no idea you needed. To the point where I’m curious how I was even alive before receiving this.”

He then thanked Bell for her “brilliant present ideas,” as well as “the incomparable artist, @chaparral_studio.”

“I nailed it. Well, @chaparral_studio nailed it, I purchased it,” Bell added in her repost of Shepard’s upload.

Chaparral Studio, based in Los Angeles, is a woman-owned, operated, and founded creative studio that offers a “collection of functional and playful objects that are original designs, many of which are handmade in the studio.”

D’Amico is currently selling a variety of designs in her Chaparral Studio online store from key chains to enamel pins, t-shirts to hand-dyed bandanas, and patches, stickers, and of course, geode portraits, which she calls “Custom Caves” on her site.

“Our custom caves make lovely gifts couples or anyone with a sense of humor,” the Chaparral Studios website reads. “Your cave can be a portrait but it can also portray a favorite hobby or 5 happening at the same time. We can reference an inside joke. Or include your family, yes even the pets.”

Or, your custom cave could inspire new jokes. Shepard wrote on Instagram, “My 7 year-old said, ‘That was nice of her. She gave you a 6 pack.’ The subtext was clearly, ‘You don’t have a 6 pack.’”

The entire custom cave process is explained over on the site, and D’Amico notes that each geode portrait, handcrafted by D’Amico herself, starts at $200.
