Kristen Buckingham, a Los Angeles-based interior designer, has created a treasure filled showroom in the center of the La Cienega Design Quarter. With a mix of traditional and modern home goods both large and small scale, her showroom doubles as a design lab and retail space, open to anyone. Most of the time Kristen is busy with her design firm and full roster of clients. However, since opening her own showroom, she has been able to offer pieces that she has custom designed, and those she hunted down and restored.

Name/Title: Kristen Buckingham, Principal Designer/President

Launch date: The shop opened in early 2010.

Inspiration for opening: As more and more requests were coming in from people who had seen my custom furniture pieces, opening a flagship store was the next logical step in the expansion of the growing KB Bespoke line. The location is home to both the shop and the design firm’s offices, making it very convenient.

Merchandise source: The shop is home to the KB Bespoke line of furniture and lighting. Our merchandise is a curated mix of my eponymous line, along with antique and vintage furniture selections, lighting, art, and accessories. In the coming months we will be announcing the addition of several hand-picked boutique lines from across the globe.

Best selling item: The Aubert Desk.

Your favorite item: The Jackie Chair.

Favorite store (other than your own): I always make a point of stopping by Karl Kemp Antiques when visiting New York. I love all things Biedermeier and he is an expert, with a great eye and fantastic selection.
