It's the kind of place where you could easily imagine perfectly imperfect couple Charlotte and Harry spending their happily forever after, if they ever deigned to leave New York. But instead of a faux set for Sex and the City, this art-filled villa in Los Angeles is the place where very real actress Kristin Davis is now calling home.
Nestled into the hills of Brentwood, Davis's upgraded spread (in the same neighborhood the actress has called home since her mid-90s Melrose Place days) clocks in at a sprawling 6,500 square feet of whitewashed gallery-esque interiors the likes of which Charlotte (and Brooke) would no doubt approve — and for which Davis shelled out $5.289 million earlier this week, according to Variety.
Featuring five bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms, the secluded two-story home looks like a Mediterranean villa on the outside and an avant garde 80s loft on the inside. The best part has to be the Saltillo-tiled patio, loggia, pool and jacuzzi, from which Davis and her guests can enjoy panoramic views of the canyons on the half-acre-plus property just above the Getty Center. There's also a wraparound balcony from which Davis can enjoy the views from the home's more private spaces.
According to Realtor.com, the home sold in late March, but originally hit the market last summer with a listing price of $6.6 million. Earlier this year, the price was further discounted to $6.2 million. And the savvy 53-year-old actress managed to knock another million bucks off the amount it took to close the deal.
A fiercely protective and notoriously private mama, Davis adopted a daughter — Gemma Rose Davis — in 2011, and no doubt the secluded property in Brentwood's wonderful school system played a part in her decision to stay in the neighborhood.
Built in 1986, the stucco home at 12020 Chalon Road was previously sold once before in January of 1994 for $1.295 million, according to the Zillow listing.
