Kusa “Llama Fleece” Jacket by Cotopaxi
Okay, I’m back in the saddle after a hiatus, buried under all sorts of other work here at ATM. There are so many cool designs to recommend, I’m going to start slowly and build back to bigger lists over the month.
I found this new, super socially minded company, Cotopaxi, before the Holidays and bought this jacket, which is super light and made with – yup -hollow fiber llama fleece: “It still insulates when wet. It won’t compress, clump, or mat with time. And it won’t shrink when washed. Additionally, llama wool’s hypoallergenic fibers won’t cause irritation. Its antimicrobial fibers don’t retain body odors.” Turns out, it works.
It has become the only jacket I’ve worn in the past two months and I love that I’ve found a new design that’s not from a shop I’ve already known for years. I wear it with a sweater underneath on cold days and by itself on these mild winter days here in NYC.
The Kusa comes in two colorways with an eye catching shiny DWR finish, as well as a full zip and half zip style. It’s unisex, but they have a full range of sizes for smaller women up to bigger men. It’s worth checking out, along with Cotopaxi’s other offerings.
