You'd think, that after reading AT for more than a year and a half, I'd have more confidence in making decorating decisions, but the window in my dining area is making me crazy. The main problem is that it's set low - there's 18 inches between the top of the window and the ceiling. The fact that we have a pub set for dining only emphasizes that...
"I've been thinking about hanging some sort of sheer or lace type curtain half to 3/4 of the way up from the top of the window, then using a draped scarf-type fabric over a decorative rod to cover the wall and the top of the mini blinds. (Yes, I know most everyone hates mini blinds, but my husband likes them so they have to stay. For now.)
The secondary problem is that the living, dining and kitchen area is one big open room. I was thinking of using the scarf material for simple panels in the living area (there's also the same issue of covering the top of the mini blinds on that window), but should I continue that (same material) for the kitchen window? Can I get away with something different as long as it's in the same color family?
I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who'd like to comment - thanks!!"
