We had a chance to pop into the Gibson lifestyle showroom over the weekend and immediately was taken by the mix of materials and textures that graced the floor. Full of rustic accents, vintage glam and custom made simple modern pieces, the unique and eclectic style is for those with a creative edge and an artistic flair. Owner, Gary Gibson, is an L.A. based interior designer, artist, and product designer and opened the storefront years ago to compliment his 20+ year old design firm.

Using contrasting textures, surfaces and resourceful materials, custom made metal pieces (like this gorgeous and simple light fixture pictured above) and glass tables of various sizes (like the accent table pictured below) can be found here and compliment each other. Aside from designing furniture, Gary likes to give new life to vintage pieces, like the football pictured before the jump.

Finding the charm and life in pieces that may not seem usable is part of the Gary's design philosophy. For example, featuring a wooden palette as a room divider or a clothes rack as a funky light base.

We loved everything we spotted in the showroom, especially the artwork that hung on the western wall. An artist in his own right, Gary loves to showcase both emerging and established Los Angeles artists and has created his own museum, so to speak. We also love the custom made round mirror hanging on the wall.

In the back of the showroom, Gary (working at a custom made wooden table) manages his longtime full service residential and commercial design firm. Working on homes and spaces in Southern California and cities around the country, Gary forms "spaces that are not just to be looked at." If you are in Los Angeles, head over to Beverly Blvd to see Gibson in person or you can visit Gibson's site by clicking here.
