Lamacek: Recycled Rolled Felt Lounger

We have to say we were a little skeptical when we first came across the Lamacek booth and saw their rolled felt lounger. (The felt is made from recycled plastic bottles.) It just didn't look very comfortable. Then we sat down in it, and woh! Instead of the rigid rocking experience we expected, it was cushioned, bouncy, and totally comfortable.

Lamacek is the brainchild of Connie Lam and Michael Sedlacek. Their collection combines the use of steel, stainless steel and glass. All products are hand-made from their studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The base of their lounger is made from 1/8" rolled steel with a powder coat finish. The cushion is handmade with rolled felt and is backed with a magnetic sheet to provide adhesion to the metal base. The magnetic sheet is removable from the cushion for dry cleaning purposes.

Lamacek makes other furniture, too, all of which can be viewed on their website.
