Lighting is always touted as an essential component of any well thought out space. As such, we often think that great expense must be spent to have a well designed lamp. The folks over at Inhabitat have proved our thinking naive with some spectacular lamps made from everyday objects ranging from plastic bottles to soda tabs.

Here's a roundup of some innovative lamps made from objects many of us can readily find around the house (save the traffic cones). Most of these designs are part of Inhabitat's Spring Greening Competition that looks for creative and clever designs that find new uses for old household items.
