These Sites Sell Gorgeous (and Affordable!) Large-Scale Art
We know great things come in small packages, but sometimes bigger truly is better—especially when it comes to your art.
Sure, we love a gallery wall as much as the next person, but there’s something striking about a mammoth print, photograph, or painting hanging over your staircase or in your dining room. Who can forget the sheer epicness of those large pieces in the Bass/Van der Woodsen apartment in “Gossip Girl”?
But large-scale art isn’t something you should buy on a whim. It’s important to not only find a piece that physically fits in your space, but anchors the room. Plus, bigger pieces usually come with a larger-than-life price tag. To help your search, we’re sharing our favorite vendors for awesome and affordable large-scale art.
Want to give your space a personal touch? Artifact Uprising lets you turn your favorite photos into a work of art. Simply upload your favorite picture to the site, and the company will do the rest. Artifact Uprising creates giclée prints on archival fine art paper, meaning your Kodak moments are getting the art gallery treatment. Best of all, it’s incredibly affordable. A 60-inch by 40-inch print can cost you as little as $150. Now that’s a bargain.
2. Minted
Founded by Mariam Naficy, Minted makes finding cool, obscure artists easier (and more affordable!) than ever before. The site features a community of independent artists in 96 countries, so you’re bound to find a piece that not only looks great, but fits well within your budget. For example, this unframed, 40-inch by 54-inch goes for $246, while a framed iteration will cost an extra $422.
If you need some help placing your latest purchase, you can text a picture of your wall to a Minted stylist, who will help you style your wall for free.
3. CB2
It probably isn’t the first place you’d think of for buying large-scale art, but CB2 has a pretty impressive collection. In fact, its site has a page dedicated to exclusive, limited-edition pieces. CB2 is known for its stylish, well-priced furniture and accessories—and its artwork follows suit. For example, you can snag this geometric piece for under $250.
4. Chairish
Chairish is a great place to sell, find, and buy vintage furniture, but did you know it offers art of all sizes? The site has two large-scale art sections (large for pieces between 41 and 60 inches and extra large pieces over 60 inches) that are packed with antique abstracts and cool, contemporary prints by Stephanie Henderson. Once you find a piece you love, use Chairish’s augmented reality app to preview it in your home.
We’ll admit a $745 print is by no means cheap, but it’s a steal compared to the similarly sized pieces going for double or triple the price elsewhere.
5. Etsy
Etsy is your one-stop for everything from handmade cards, to one-of-a-kind jewelry, to, yes, large-scale art. With thousands of options to choose from, looking for art on Etsy can feel like a trip down the rabbit hole. However, thanks to a crop of talented vendors like Elena’s Art Studio, the search will be worth it.
