Halloween is imminent, which means the costume aisles will soon be picked over. Do you go for the sweaty hotdog costume, or that last pair of cat ears? Our vote is no — not when you can make your own with a little help from 2-day shipping and your own closet. See what shows are inspiring us this Halloween season, and get to trick-or-treating!

If Gilead gives you the creeps, you’re not alone. Why not incorporate Margaret Atwood’s dark characters into your Halloween with an easy Handmaid’s costume? Better yet, grab your best friend (and your wings) and become an Offred-Offglen duo.

It’s no secret that you can DIY your way into a scene from Games of Thrones. IKEA showed us how with an easy tutorial using the SCOLD sheepskin rug. But we’re getting down the wire, so unless you’ve got a spare IKEA sheepskin laying around and the time to dye it, grab your scissors and a faux sheepskin from Amazon and get to work because Halloween is coming…

What You’ll Need

Sheepskin rug
Scissors to cut the rug
Velcro
to attach the rug to the cape

Jump on the GLOW trend with this super easy costume—perfect for groups, might I add. Grab a glitter one-piece or leotard in your favorite ’80s color (there are so many!) and don’t be shy when it comes to the hairspray. Oh, and put on some glitter eye-shadow for good measure, because it’s showtime ladies!

What You’ll Need

Leotard or one-piece
Mesh Gloves (or use a pair of socks and cut the toes off!)
Combat Boots

Elastic Belt
