We spend so much time decorating out indoor spaces that we often don't think of just how creative we can get with natural materials in outdoor spaces. Which brings earthworks artist Andy Goldsworthy to mind:
We've loved Goldsworthy's work for some time now, yet we never think of him when brainstorming ways to spruce up outside of the house. But why not? Much of this would be well-applied to a garden or patio area. And while work like his may be time-consuming, would it really consume any more time than constant gardening, weeding, mowing?
Without an outdoor space of your own? Arrange some pieces of nature on your next hike or trip to the park. The strangers who come upon it after you will appreciate your creativity.

In looking for images of Goldsworthy's work, we came across many who were inspired by him to put their own little spin on nature. We'll follow up soon with a post of some of those Goldsworthy-inspired works! In the meantime, tell us: Have you emulated any earthworks artists in your outdoor space?
