Lifetime Designed a Rental Inspired By Its Holiday Movies
Attention, cheesy holiday movie fans: Lifetime teamed up with vacation rental company Vrbo to create a limited-edition Christmas rental inspired by its holiday films. The “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” Holiday House is located in Greenwich, Connecticut and features all of the elements of a holiday rom-com home: twinkle lights, an abundance of Christmas trees and wreaths, faux snow, and a roaring fireplace perfect for a workaholic type who—after suddenly finding themselves in a small town because life in the big city took an unexpected turn—falls in love with a flannel-clad local along the way.
No surprise here, but the three-bedroom, two-bathroom rental is already fully booked. But that won’t stop us from admiring it from afar. Carly Hughes, decorator and star of Lifetime’s “The Christmas Edition,” designed the home and took cues from specific films from this year’s holiday lineup: a giant nutcracker from “A Welcome Home Christmas,” a gingerbread house kit inspired by “A Sugar & Spice Holiday,” and a Christmas train set from “Feliz Navidad,” for example, are some of the features in the rental. What’s more, those who book the house can watch Lifetime holiday films 24/7.
“I got to live the fantasy while shooting my first holiday movie this year, ‘The Christmas Edition,’” Hughes said of the rental. “It was a feeling that I wish everyone could have the chance to experience, so I was excited when this opportunity arose to help Vrbo create a Lifetime holiday movie escape for fans. This year in particular we could all use just a little extra magic.”
“We fell in love with the idea of walking into a vacation home and immediately feeling like you were transported into a Lifetime movie,” Kannie Yu LaPack, Lifetime’s senior vice president of PR, public affairs and social media, added of the project. “Because we all truly need to escape these days, this incredible opportunity to create a house with Vrbo for families to experience this season is like opening the perfect gift under the tree.”
