LIGHT.form Panels Peel Away for Illumination

Forget traditional dimmers, this Milan Design Week debut has us rethinking how lighting can be integrated into the home. One part advent calendar one part lamp, LIGHT.form lets you control brightness by peeling backing sections of it.

A network of energy efficient electroluminescent lights hides behind movable laminate panels (wengè on the outside and European maple on the inside). The panels flip up and out, revealing electroluminescent lights that bounce off the soft-toned maple. Sections that don't hold lights are covered by a bare white surface that increases light reflection.

LIGHT.form is a collaboration between Assembla-Cab, an electrical components manufacturer, and designers Francesca Rogers and Daniele Gualeni.
