If you haven’t already heard, we’ve got some big (small) things happening over here at Apartment Therapy. This weekend (Apr. 22) officially kicks off our third annual Small/Cool Experience in New York City. We’re taking over an epic apartment in SoHo, where we’ve challenged 12 talented interior designers (think: Carmeon Hamilton, Christiane Lemieux, and Julieta Alvarez) to bring 12 of our favorite style trends to life — each within 120 square feet.

If you’re local to NYC, you can swing downtown every weekend between April 22 and May 15 to experience the space yourself — plus score face time with the creators and our editors, experience workshops and participate in Q&A sessions. Not in the tri-state area? No sweat! We’re spreading the goodness online, too, with a dedicated landing page where you can peep the event schedule, designer mood boards, and more.

We’re even helping you shop the event for your own home, rounding up some of our favorite Small/Cool products making an appearance in NYC. First up? A selection of our favorite little luxuries — all under $50 — to help boost spaces big and small with an epic dose of style.

This classic mushroom lamp lends the effect of an old-school library, making it a great option for illuminating your office space. Choose from a selection of metallic finishes, including gold, rose gold, and silver. The best part: The design actually boasts two bulbs, each operated by its own pull-chain, so you can control how much light fills your space.

Urban Outfitters

You know you've graduated to elite plant parenthood status when you start springing for sculptural, unique planters. Give your favorite greenies this standout Areaware stacking planter from Urban Outfitters. At first glance, it boasts three graceful, connected curves, but the bottom layer is actually removable, allowing you to easily empty out excess water that could cause root rot.

Lulu and Georgia

Bowls are a low-key organizational must-have, allowing you to easily corral bits and bobs around your home that could otherwise snowball into a chaotic mess. This modern octagonal bowl from Lulu and Georgia is equal parts chic and practical. It would function perfectly as a catch-all on a dresser or entryway table.
