Beautiful, Environmentally Friendly and Purposeful are the words Jen, owner of LivingPlaying uses to describe the kinds of toys and products she wants to provide through her store. Very much a proponent of open-ended, imaginative play, she carefully selects products that are educational and inspirational as well as safe for children and the environment.

The website is beautiful and easy to navigate. In addition to searching by category, brand name and age, you can also search by symbols (see below) which indicate products geared toward encouraging skill development in different areas: gross motor skills, fine motor skills, sensory skills, social and language skills, and cognitive skills.

There's lots to see on the LivingPlaying website, but here are a few things that caught our eye.

If you have room for it, this wooden market stand ($80) is great for storing your play food and for playing market. It could easily be used for any number of "shops" your child wants to create and "run."

From top left: Pull Along Cowboy ($45).
Layered Oak Leaf Puzzle ($17).
Wooden Baby Car ($12).
Sailboat Bath and Water Toy ($20).

Tooth Fairy boxes ($4) hold a tooth (under their hat) while awaiting a visit from the Tooth Fairy.

LivingPlaying also carries a nice selection of Montessori and Waldorf toys. We've added LivingPlaying to our bookmarks and look forward to checking back for their new finds in the future.
