A light in the woods. We first spotted these cute "log bowls" at the recent ICFF show. Designed by Loyal Loot, a collaborative design group of Canadian women, these log bowls are an hommage to traditional lathed wooden bowls. They were originally part of the "CABIN" project, an exhibition of that was put on by Motherbrand, and exhibited during the 2004 ICFF.
Each bowl is handmade from actual logs (birch, willow, poplar, cherry, or mayday) and then painted with acrylic paint and varathane. There are five sizes to choose from. You can purchase them locally at Show, on Vermont, and prices range from $34-$100 depending on size. Show carries them in red, yellow, and transparent.
