A Peek Inside The Ames Hotel, Boston

I had the chance to satisfy my inner diva this weekend and spend a night at the recently opened Ames Hotel. Located downtown in the historic Ames building built in 1893, it's considered one of Boston's first skyscrapers. It's named after a prominent 19th century New England family who made their fortune by way of the Ames Shovel Company.

The Ames Hotel is the newest addition to the Morgans Hotel Group whose other hotels include the renowned Delano in Miami and The Hudson in New York City.

Pictured above is their corner king room which is outfitted with wide plank hard wood floors, over sized windows, 10 foot ceilings, modern furnishings, and airy floor-to-ceiling drapery. It's turn-of-the-century meets contemporary in all its glory.

The posh design continues throughout the hotel with furniture vignettes (white leather!), unusual lighting, and several commissioned artworks.

In one word, it's perfect! Thank you Ames!
